Description

Profiles allow you to add profiles to any page in your site with a number of different output types.

Usage

Enabling the Plugin

Go to Plugins and Activate U of T Profiles.

How to use Profiles on your site

Create profiles on your site by clicking the Profiles > Add New in the WordPress admin area. You have the option to add them to profile groups which are basically categories for the profiles. Example groups could be university affiliation such as staff or students or they could be something more specific such as year of graduation.

At the top of the editing window, click the plus sign and either search for “profile” or go to the widget blocks and select Profiles by Group, Profile Banner or Single Profile blocks.

Options

The profiles themselves don’t have any options, they do however have custom fields that are not present in posts or pages that need to be filled out for them to display properly in the various blocks.

The Profiles by Group can be sorted by name or by the order you chose and can be set to ascending or descending order using the block settings.

Obviously profiles can be sorted differently if they’re in different categories so we’ve added the ability to have mutiple sort options depending on the group the user is in.

On the profile edit screen there is a Profile Groups area in the custom fields that allows you to specify a group and an order within that group.
